The Workshop “PhD Program Development”
“PhD Program Development” Task Force at the German Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology has successfully held several meetings, leading to the finalization of program documentation. The workshop was organized with support from GIZ to clarify contribution from German partner universities, involving professors and researchers from Aachen University (RWTH), TUBA Freiberg University (TUBAF) and Technical University of Darmstadt. Higher education specialist of the Ministry of Education participated in the workshop.
The development process of the PhD program is based on the legal framework of Mongolia, recommendations and research from sectoral specialists and researchers, as well as from partner universities abroad. The features of the PhD program:
• Focused on research methodology
• Opportunities to conduct joint research with partner universities,
• Options to pursue the program either independently or in combination with a master’s program.
The Faculty of Georesource and Materials Engineering at RWTH Aachen University expressed its readiness to implement a joint doctoral program by supporting and enhancing academic cooperation with GMIT. The Letter of Intent was handed over by Professor Michael Leuchner of RWTH Aachen University during the meeting.
