The Ambassador of Germany was awarded with first Honorary Doctorate of GMIT

The ceremony of awarding H.E. Jörn Rosenberg, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Mongolia, with the first Honorary Doctorate of the German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology was held on July 7, 2023 in Chinggis Khan Museum. The GMIT communities, the representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and German Embassy participated in the ceremony and congratulated the Ambassador.

Since his appointment as Ambassador Plenipotentiary to Mongolia in August 2019, H.E. Jörn Rosenberg has always supported the GIZ-GMIT project in the framework of the negotiation between governments of Mongolia and Germany. GMIT is the youngest state-owned University that has been aiming to prepare for highly qualified engineers in Mongolia's mineral industry for the past ten years. The support of the Germany Embassy, GIZ, and the cooperation of partner universities in Germany play a main role in introducing international scientific experience and modern academic standards to Mongolia.

Therefore, in recognition of his support to Mongolia's higher education sector and his contribution to bringing the cooperation between the two countries to upper level through GMIT, the Ambassador was awarded an Honorary Doctorate degree from the University.
