COP17: Invitation to the Project Presentation “Sustainability in Mining Operations: From Standards to Integrated Practice”


As part of COP17 Ulaanbaatar 2026, a project presentation titled “Sustainability in Mining Operations: From Standards to Integrated Practice” will be held.

Building on the results of the previously implemented ToSMM project, this initiative aims to translate sustainable mining standards and guidelines into practical implementation at mine sites and contribute to achieving measurable sustainability outcomes.

The project focuses on identifying, piloting, and continuously improving innovative solutions across interconnected areas, including land and ecosystem stewardship, water management, climate action, tailings management, community relations, workforce development, and governance.

The project also seeks to strengthen collaboration with mining companies, industry organizations, research institutions, development partners, and other relevant stakeholders to jointly develop and test practical solutions for sustainable mining operations.
