Welcome to the New Academic Year!

Dear Students, Colleagues, and Supporters of GMIT,

Welcome to all of you, old and new, as we begin the new academic year. Congratulations on overcoming the challenges of the pandemic and for being active and responsible in your studies and work over the past two years.

In the new academic year, we are once again faced with the responsibility to take care of our health, protect our loved ones from the risk of infection, develop ourselves, and continue to work and study as normally as possible.

For the 2021-2022 academic year, we welcome our students with another new dormitory! In addition, the Board of Governors of the German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology approved a 10 percent tuition reduction for all undergraduate students in the Fall semester, in line with the "Temporary Procedure for Discounting and Transferring Tuition Fees for All Levels of Educational Institutions Regardless of Ownership" policy by the Ministry of Education and Science in 2021.

We are also very pleased to announce that this year, GMIT is offering a total of MNT 951 million in scholarships, funded by the Government of Mongolia and by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). These scholarships will be awarded to our top-ranked students who have excelled in their studies and initiatives at GMIT.

This academic year, we will focus on developing high-quality online classes and e-learning and expand our teaching and research collaboration.

There is an inspirational saying, "Positive thoughts are a hundred times stronger than negative ones." In this vein, we call upon everyone in the GMIT community to take on a positive attitude to support our health and overcome the difficult times of the pandemic together.

I would like to wish all the best to the GMIT community, our cooperating organizations, our German partner organizations, and our students eagerly pursuing a world-class engineering education!

Sincerely,
Rector BATTSENGEL Baatar
