Our Bachelor programs:
GMIT offers Bachelor’s studies that prepares you for an international engineering career. The Study program is conducted in English language by our Mongolian, German, and international faculty. Therefore, we expect solid English proficiency, as well as a sound understanding in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

You can enroll in following Bachelor of Science Programs (B.Sc.):

Raw Materials and Process Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Environmental Engineering
Industrial Engineering
Mechatronic Engineering
Energy and Electrical Engineering

Our Bachelor programs are internationally accredited, and enable students to apply for Master’s studies in Germany, Europe and beyond. Soon, we will introduce our 5th Bachelor Study program “B.Sc. in Power and Electrical Engineering” as well as the specialization “Mechatronics” as part of our “B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering”. Our graduates are highly sought-after by Mongolian and international companies, because they have the know-how, after passing our 4-years Study program with 240 credit points (ECTS):
  • to apply mathematical, scientific and engineering principles for solving problems;
  • to recognize and analyze problems, develop engineering solutions to problems, and realize holistic solutions for them;
  • to assess and apply as engineers in design, development, production, distribution and consulting scientific methods;
  • to apply information science for solving engineering problems;
  • to work in international teams in order to solve extensive and interdisciplinary problems.
So far, 100% of our graduates got a job in their profession within few months.

Basic Engineering Program (BEP):
For students who need additional English language and/or Natural Science preparation for entry onto our Bachelor program, we offer a one-year preparation course “Basic Engineering Program” (BEP). BEP covers fundamental knowledge in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, IT, and English language - the ideal foundation to succeed in our B.Sc. programs. For more information, please download the BEP Module Handbook.

Postgraduate Programs (M.Sc. + MBA):
For students who want to obtain an international Master’s degree (postgraduate studies), we provide two opportunities:

M.Sc. in Advanced Mineral Resources Development (AMRD):
Students completing the international Master's Degree Program in “Advanced Mineral Resources Development” earn the degree “Master of Science” (M.Sc.), which is awarded by our AMRD Partner universities Montanuniversität Leoben (Austria) and TU Bergakademie Freiberg (Germany). The joint master degree program covers 120 ECTS points and corresponds to the usual study period of four semesters (two years). All students complete the first semester at Montanuniversität Leoben in Austria, the second semester at TU Bergakademie Freiberg in Germany, and the third and fourth semester at GMIT in Mongolia. This study order is compulsory for all students. The degree program starts in October of every year in Leoben. The language of instruction is English.

MBA in International Management of Resources and Environment (IMRE):
Students completing the Master's Degree Program in “International Management of Resources and Environment” earn the degree “Master of Business Administration” (MBA). The Master’s program provides knowledge in Business and Management with a dedicated focus on the natural resources and environmental protection. That’s the reason, why we call the study program the “green” MBA. It is characterized by an interdisciplinary approach encompassing geosciences, ecology, mining engineering, law, economics, finance and management with emphasis on Mongolia, but also including the international scope. The MBA program covers 120 credit points (ECTS) and corresponds to the usual study period of four semesters (two years). The degree program starts in October of every year in Ulaanbaatar. The language of instruction is English.

Ph.D Program:
As a research-oriented university, GMIT is striving to offer an internationally recognized Ph.D. program within the next years.

German language:
Many GMIT students want to do their 14-weeks internship in Germany, or are planning to obtain their Master’s degree at one of our German Partner universities. Therefore, we offer German language courses (up to level B2) as elective.
