"Assessment of the Social and Economic Impacts of COVID-19 on Women Artisanal Miners in the Zaamar Soum of Tuv Province in Mongolia" research report was discussed

German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology, and the University of British Columbia has successfully implemented the project "Assessment of the Social and Economic Impacts of COVID-19 on Women Artisanal Miners in the Zaamar Soum of Tuv Province in Mongolia" funded by Extractive Global Programmatic Support of World bank.

The universities organized the webinar for all level governmental and international organizations on May 11, 2021, to present and discuss the research findings. In this webinar Members of parliament Damdinnyam G, Unurbolor D, Gankhuyag Kh, Ministry of education and science, Ministry of Labor and social protection, Ministry of Mining and Heavy industry, National Gender committee, General Agency for Specialized Inspection, Mineral Resources, and Petroleum Authority of Mongolia, Zaamar soum governor, head of Zaamar soum citizens representative, Embassy of Canada, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Asian development bank, The Asia Foundation, UNDP, NGO's participated and expressed their opinion and suggestions.

We hope that the research results of the project that has been implemented in cooperation with Norman Keevil Institute for Mining Engineering of the University of British Columbia can contribute to addressing the existing challenges faced by the Mongolian ASM sector.
