Happy New Academic Year 2020-2021!

Dear Instructors, Students, and Staff,

On behalf of the GMIT Rectorate, we are all extremely pleased to have everyone together again for the new academic year, as we navigate the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and what that means for our instruction, learning, work schedule, and environment. Please know that all decisions and activities we undertake this academic year will be based on the principles of maintaining your health and a safe learning and working environment according to national regulations. To paraphrase mother Alungoo, if we each do our part to weather every challenge, we will be Stronger Together.

Despite this situation, we continue to move forward toward our vision of becoming an established and regionally recognized research-based university with the goal of introducing German engineering education in Mongolia. To the incoming Class of ’24, you are joining GMIT during a period of growth; growth in the number of undergraduate and graduate degree programs; growth in the number of matriculates and graduates; growth in the student residential complex; and growth of GMIT’s campus. By being admitted to study at GMIT, we hope you will join us in upholding our vision, mission and values, and contribute to the university’s continuing development.

Your time at GMIT will pass quickly, so our faculty and staff will help you make the most of your studies during your time with us. Working together to make it through this pandemic and through the myriad challenges faced by an institution in its initial growth phase, you will be as prepared as possible for a successful career in engineering, wherever that may lead you.

I wish all the GMIT student, staff and our German partners every success and good health in the coming academic year.

Sincerely,
BATTSENGEL Baatar
